People’s Choice
Award will be given to contestant who gets the most votes at the pageant. This is for an extra award on stage. Each vote will be $1.00……. No Limit! Cash only. This does not affect scores or crowning. Proceeds will go to local charities.
Personal Interview
Personal interviews will take place before the actual pageant begins. No one is allowed to be with you during your interview. You need to wear a casual outfit, trendy yet classy or a business suit for this portion of the competition like a pant or skirt suit. Questions asked will be emailed to contestants a few days before the pageant.
Opening Dance (NOT SCORED)
You will be learning a choreographed opening dance number during the pageant practice. (Same Day) Don't worry it will be simple choreography. The required attire is a RED cocktail dress (knee length or shorter) may have glitter, sequins etc. Contestants will wear same outfit used for dance for on-stage introduction which will be judged.
On-Stage Introduction
This is brief introduction, try to keep under 1 minute. It must include your name, city, age and may include goals, favorite quote, hobbies or something interesting about yourself. (Opening Dance Attire RED DRESS)
Latin Fashion Wear
Latin wear is something that is in style (your style) and flatters your body and personality that reflects the Hispanic, Latina and/or Mexican Culture and Traditions . No Plain Jeans and be creative! Walk and outfit coordination will be judged. This is outfit of choice (any color) but must be fashionable and trendy. This is high fashion runway attire, you can also use props such as hats, sunglasses, etc.
Evening Gown
Your dress should reflect your personality and be age appropriate. Choose a dress that best flatters your body type… feel comfortable in it. Must be floor length and can be any style or shade of color.
On-Stage Question
Delegates will be asked a final onstage question. The bonus points will be added to final score after all areas of competition have been calculated.
Photogenic
Must look as professional as possible, clear and good resolution. No distracting bacKgrounds. Must be a head shot that shows your natural facial beauty without effects or alterations (no glitz photos) . Be sure to smile!

This is high fashion runway attire, you can also use props such as hats, sunglasses, bandanas etc.

Red Rose Wear
This is for the younger contestants only who do not do an interview. This is anything that is fashionable and stylish that is RED. It could be a cocktail dress or something that has roses on it, pant/skirt suit, for the babies a onesie etc. you can add headbands and rose accessories as needed.

Patriotic Wear Outfit must be Red, White, and Blue and must show your American patriotism. This is open to any outfit of your choice that is classy yet trendy. It can be a dress, a costume, dress pants, skirts etc. it can also be military related but incorporate required colors or anything that speaks America, Our Flag and Freedom.

Hair and Makeup
Makeup for all divisions should be kept natural. Light Stage glamorous makeup is allowed during all on stage competitions for all divisions. When worn, makeup should enhance the contestant’s natural beauty and should not overpower them. Hair styles should be age appropriate. THIS IS A SEMI-GLITZ PAGEANT. No nails under 5, no tans that are out of the norm or distracting, keep hair pieces to a minimum, no showing of midriff (stomach area for younger age groups) ALL OUTFITS MUST BE AGE APPROPRIATE! Points will be deducted for not following rules.

Red Fashion Wear
This is an outfit of choice that is any shade of red that is high fashion, runway style attire. It can have glitter, sequins, but must be dominantly red in color. Outfit can be dress, dressy pants, skirt. etc. Walk and outfit coordination will be judged. You can also use props such as hats, scarfs, etc. Shoes can be any color but red, neutral/tan, clear or black are a great choice.
On-Stage Introduction
This is brief introduction, try to keep under 1 minute. It must include your name, city, age and may include goals, favorite quote, hobbies or something interesting about yourself.
Evening Gown
Your dress should reflect your personality and be age appropriate. Choose a dress that best flatters your body type… feel comfortable in it. MUST BE FLOOR LENGTH length and can be any style or shade of color. Only exception to this is the divisions under 23 months.
Photogenic
Must look as professional as possible, clear and good resolution. No distracting backgrounds. Must be a head shot that shows your natural facial beauty without effects or alterations (no glitz photos) . Be sure to smile!
For girls under 3 years, photo will be judged and part of your score.
Hair and Makeup
Makeup for all divisions should be kept natural. Light Stage glamorous makeup is allowed during all on stage competitions for all divisions. When worn, makeup should enhance the contestant’s natural beauty and should not overpower them. Hair styles should be age appropriate. THIS IS A SEMI-GLITZ PAGEANT. No nails under 5, no tans that are out of the norm or distracting, keep hair pieces to a minimum, no showing of midriff (stomach area for younger age groups) ALL OUTFITS MUST BE AGE APPROPRIATE! Points will be deducted for not following rules.

They will receive a rhinestone crown, satin sash, crown pin, trophy, photo shoot package (pending sponsor), All Runner-Ups will receive a mini crown and/or award in each age division. Personal Interview
Personal interviews will take place before the actual pageant begins. No one is allowed to be with you during your interview. You need to wear a casual outfit, trendy yet classy or a business suit for this portion of the competition like a pant or skirt suit. OUTFIT MUST LOOK PROFESSIONAL. Questions asked will be emailed to contestants a few days before the pageant to help you prepare.
Opening Dance (NOT SCORED)
You will be learning a choreographed opening dance number during the pageant practice day of the event. (Same Day practice only) Don't worry it will be simple choreography. The required attire is your CINCO DE MAYO THEMED WEAR.
Cinco De Mayo Theme Wear
Cinco De Mayo Theme wear is something that is in style (your style) and flatters your body and personality that reflects the theme of Cino De Mayo (red, green, white, floral, Mexican dress, folklorico dance attire, Mexican embroidery, poncho, Mexican hats). This can be a costume or any high fashion runway attire that adheres to the theme. You are allowed to use props such as hats, sunglasses, hair peices, removable layers of clothing, etc. No Plain Jeans and be creative! Walk and outfit coordination will be judged. (Also used for DANCE)

On-Stage Introduction
This is brief introduction, try to keep under 1 minute. It must include your name, city, age and may include goals, favorite quote, hobbies or something interesting about yourself. This is done isn your black knee length cocktail style dress (same dress used for dance)
Personal Interview
This is done right before the pageants, this is a one to one interview in front of all 3 judges. Each judge will ask 2 questions for a total of 6 questions. (5 minutes max) .They may also ask follow up questions based on your responses. This is your chance to show your personality to the judges and your only chance to get that close interaction with them. If time permits a list of all possible questions that can be asked will be emailed to the contestants. You wear a business pant/skirt suit or Sunday's best, something you would wear to a job interview. You can answer in English or Spanish .
Latin Fashion/Costume Wear
Latin wear is an outfit or costume that is in style (your style) and flatters your body and personality that reflects the Hispanic, Latina and/or Mexican Culture and Traditions. No Plain Jeans and be creative! Walk and outfit coordination will be judged. This is an outfit of choice (any color) but must be fashionable and trendy. You must adhere to the theme and you may use props such as hats, sunglasses, etc.
RGV Fashion/Costume Wear
RGV Costume Wear is an outfit or costume that represents any part of the Rio Grande Valley culture, environment, unique places and events from agriculture and farming to Science and South padre island . This outfit/costume should be unique and reflect on something that makes the Rio Grande Valley Special and/or means something to you. You will need to think outside the box and be creative. Walk, outfit coordination, and Costume significance will be judged. You will be asked to fill out a notecard before the pageant about what your outfit is, what it represents and why you chose it. This is an outfit of choice but must adhere to theme, props are welcomed. No swimsuits alone. This is not swim wear!
